Greedy Stuff

Harolds' NY Deli - Edison NJ

I just started the Atkins diet 4 long days ago (it really works!) so I'm really conscious of foods and I ran across this website and wonder just how greedy we are as a people. http://www.supersizedmeals.com/food/
The first photo below is from the Carnegie Deli - NYC landmark and the second is from a restaurant somewhere in Tennessee. The last photo is from the chain, Ruby Tuesday's.

If I go out to eat, I'll ask for a "to go" container with my meal so that I can remove at least half of the food served.

Have fun with Fatkins. First, you'll be cranky. Don't call me then. Call me in a few weeks, when you're all dizzy and stupid from lack of carbs. We'll get along just fine then.

Good luck with the diet. I've heard good things about it but since I'm a vegetarian, I'd starve to death on it.

Just looking at those humongous portions is enough to make me lose my appetite, though. (Gag.)

Question jali: I've heard it works, but do you not end up putting weight back on really easily as well?

OMIGOD!
Good Luck!
Hooray!
Remember:
Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!

I love eating in restaurants, but the portions are so huge, and some appetizers so tasty, that I never have room for dessert. And the best dessert is cake or big-ass cookie w/ a scoop of ice cream. Promises to have just appetizer & dessert next time don't work because I am hungry for real food.

mist,
I call all the cool kids when I'm cranky. Hey! answer your phone!

hearts,
Isn't it ridiculous?

kav,
I've done it before and I did put weight back on - I just have to watch my carbs for the rest of my life.

d,
You are sooooo right.

macarena,
I've eaten out more in Atlanta than anywhere else I've lived. The food is really great - I've really conditioned myself to not eat the hi carb stuff and it's tough since my favorite food of all time is mashed potatoes.

I'm on an eternal diet. Some days I remember to eat and some days I don't. Running is what I need.

Good luck on the atkins diet. The pictures you posted are frickin' sick. Completely non-appetizing! As in, RALPH!

Whey protein mix with 0% milk works great for that waistline. Trust me.
